PEOS is configured within the “Monitoring Earth's Evolution and Tectonics” project - MEET financed as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 “Education and research”, component 2 “From research to business ", investment 3.1 "Fund for the creation of an integrated system of research and innovation infrastructures", action 3.1.1 "Creation of new research infrastructures, strengthening of existing ones and their networking for scientific excellence in the field Of
Horizon Europe”.

The proponent and implementer of the entire project is the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV; https://www.ingv.it)

PEOS Platform has the task of managing, organizing and distributing data and results coming from various scientific activities of INGV and one of IREA-CNR operating in the domain of Space and Earth Observation.

Dedicated to the individual scientific activities covered, the Thematic Modules can be dedicated to the generation of specific scientific data/products and the distribution of data and products not generated directly by the infrastructure itself.
