Forecast of Volcanic Ash Clouds
The aim of the module "Forecast of Volcanic Ash Clouds" is to provide quantitative estimates of volcanic hazard from fallout and atmospheric dispersion of ash generated by explosive eruptions at various volcanoes. Forecasts are provided in near real-time and show the probability that ash ground load and atmospheric concentration will exceed certain thresholds. The threshold values are 0.5 kg/m² and 5 kg/m² for ground load, and 0.2 mg/m³, 2 mg/m³, and 4 mg/m³ for atmospheric concentration.
